I haven't written for a while but I haven't stopped knitting. In the meantime, I graduated from grad school, packed all my stuff and followed the bf to Boston, was unemployed for a couple of months (resulting in knitted only holiday presents for my whole family), and then found two part time jobs which keep me quite busy. There are days when I miss being unemployed. Actually, not really. I found out I am certainly not a house wife.
My latest project is a huge wrap for my bf's mother. Huge on her at least, because on all accounts she is tiny. It came from a joke she made towards him. He told his mom that I had knitted all the gifts for my family. So she wanted to know why she didn't get anything. I, seeing an opportunity to get some brownie points, searched for the perfect pattern, namely one which passes bf's scrutinizing, and found nuvem. It's a very simple stockinette pattern which is supposed to keep her warm when she goes on her daily morning walks. I ordered five skeins of Knit Picks stroll tonal (more than two kilometers of yarn) to be worked into the shawl. I am down to the last skein now and started the fringe. Photos will follow once I am done. Right now it's just a big convoluted mess on my needles.
